With its unique views over Lake Constance, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and 240 Alpine peaks, the Pfänder (1,064m) is the most famous vantage point in the area. Whether you are exploring the Alpine wildlife park, enjoying a hike or simply admiring the view from the restaurant terrace – a day on the Pfänder is an unforgettable experience!
Alpine wildlife park:
During a 30-minute walk around the park, you can observe our most magnificent native animal species including deer, alpine ibex, moufflons and marmots.
Hiking:
A clearly signposted network of paths on the Pfänder are perfect for a leisurely stroll – and there are plenty of options for more demanding hikers: a hike in the valley (approx. 1 hour), a mountain route taking in three peaks above one thousand metres with the Pfänder (1,064 m), the Hochberg (1,069 m) and the Hirschberg (1,095 m) lasting about 5 hours, the high trail to Scheidegg (approx. 3.5 hours), the cheese trail (between 3 and 5 hours).
Pfänderbahn museum:
The Pfänderbahn Museum tells the story of the Pfänderbahn from the original idea to the present day.
Best view:
Visitors can enjoy the best view over Lake Constance from the panoramic terrace of the Restaurant Berghaus Pfänder. The Berghaus Pfänder treats guests with hearty lunch menus, good snacks and home-made cakes.
A convenient way to reach Bregenz is by boat across the lake. The valley station of the Pfänderbahn cable car is only 8 minutes from the harbour on foot.
A unique experience. The view is fascinating over Lake Constance not only in summer – winter also offers a unique experience and is refreshing. The winter scenery, comfortable restaurants, skiing and snowboarding with a view over Lake Constance are enjoyed by the guests of the Pfänder.
