Langenargen Museum at Lake Constance

Langenargen Museum

Langenargen, Germany

Former President Erwin Teufel described the Langenargen Museum as “A gem among the museums in the Lake Constance area”. The main attraction is one of the largest collections of works by Hans Purrmann (1880–1966), the co-founder of the Académie Matisse. Works by artists such as Jan Balet and Karl Caspar, who have links to the community, can also be seen. Furthermore, you can discover valuable items of Christian art including a Romanesque processional cross from the Staufer period (1140) and the carved Pieta (1340), a rare baroque Trinity in art.
